HTTP's requested methods (HTTP Request Method) consist of 15 methods and HTTP's requests are subject to multiple methods, based on the HTTP standard. HTTP1.0 defines three methods of request: GET, POST and HEAD. HTTP1.1 adds five additional methods of request: OPTIONS, PUT, DELETE, TRACE and CONNECT.

| 6 | CONNECT | The HTTP/1.1 protocol provides for proxy servers that can convert connections to conduits. |
| 7 | OPTIONS | Allows the client to view the server performance. |
| 8 | TRACE | Retrospect servers receive requests, mainly for testing or diagnosis. |
| 9 | PATCH | The entity includes a table indicating the difference from the original content indicated by the URL. |
| 10 | MOVE | The server is requested to move the specified page to another web address. |
| 11 | COPY | The server is requested to copy the specified page to another web address. |
| 12 | LINK | The server is requested to establish a link. |
| 13 | UNLINK | Disconnect. |
| 14 | WRAPPED | Allows clients to send sealed requests. |
| 15 | Extension-mothed | Additional methods could be added without altering the agreement. |
